More About Gerald

My music is the raw embodiment of my soul. It’s an expression of the scars, the healing, the pain, and the triumphs of life. Through lyrics and instrumentals, I reveal the truth and emotions that come with living. My music is an unfiltered, butt-naked honesty that resonates with anyone who has ever felt the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Music has been a constant in my life, starting from my grandmother’s lap, where she sang me to sleep and woke me up with a Sunday morning melody. Those moments with her and the Friday and Saturday night fish fry blues shaped my music taste and style. From watching the Ed Sullivan Show with legends like James Brown, Otis Redding, and Gladys Knight, to attending gospel concerts with my mother and listening to Rev. James Cleveland, Aretha Franklin, and Shirley Ceaser, music was always there.

As a child, I would sit alone with my Close & Play record player on rainy days, trying to understand the emotions and stories behind each song. Music spoke to me, and I learned to listen. As I grew older, I started writing down the notes and keys I heard in my head, translating the language of music into words on paper.

Every song I write is inspired by what I hear in the music and how it makes me feel. The names of my songs are a reflection of the emotions they evoke, whether it’s joy, pain, or hope. My music is my way of connecting with the world and offering a healing touch to those who need it.

So, let my music be your guide, your comfort, your healing. Listen to the notes and keys, and feel the raw passion and honesty that comes with every song. I hope that my music will inspire you, move you, and bring a little bit of light into your life.
